What is The Emet Academy
The Emet Academy was founded in 2014 and is a NPO which is focused on:
- Developing and Empowering School Children from Disadvantaged Communities
- Developing and Empowering Disadvantaged Athletes
- Developing and Empowering Coaches from Disadvantaged Communities
- SED, SE, ED opportunities
The Academy was established to help provide young athletes the opportunity to play on a level playing field, by providing the best strength and training coaching around. This would help them fulfill their athletic potential and therefore compete on an equal footing for bursaries and scholarships at other schools and at University level.
The Academy evolved from there into training, developing young coaches, not only young athletes from disadvantaged communities and we currently employ 5 coaches with the goal to growing that number to 10 by the end of this year and our coaches also provide free training at disadvantaged schools. We currently provide training for 1900 school kids from Waverley girls, Pinelands North boys and our view is to grow that to 5000 kids by the end of this year.
We sponsor young athletes at University too in terms of helping them with money and funds for food and clothing and also provide them with free training.
The goal of the Academy is to provide those who wish to work hard for their dreams means to upscale them as Coaches and as Athletes.
We also provide free self defence shops and training workshops nationally and with the role of bringing through our coaches to the kids in these kids in the poorer communities what true positive male role models are.
Emet Gyms clients not only get world class training but also contribute towards the Emet Academy, which means that you not only get to train to be the best you can be but you are allowing us to give that opportunity to many under privileged communities.
